Hutchison 3 Indonesia embraces Nokia’s Cloud Packet Core solution
Telecom service provider Hutchison 3 Indonesia (H3I) announced it has selected Nokia’s Cloud Packet Core solution to help manage data volume growth in the Indonesian market.
The Indonesian cloud computing market is anticipated to witness the most growth among the ASEAN countries, largely due to an increase in mobile consumption and demand for disaster recovery services, according to a 2017 report. Government Regulation 82, which centers on ensuring electronic system operators for “public services” use Indonesia-based data centers, is also seen as a contributor to the increased demand for cloud data center participants.
Nokia’s Cloud Packet Core solution is a kind of software disaggregated into various parts. The solution includes Cloud Mobility Manager and Cloud Mobile Gateway, which are essential to the organization’s global telecoms infrastructure. The former, according to the company, provides the web-scale and state-efficient design to meet the control plane requirements of broadband evolution, whereas the latter performs gateway functions within the packet core. H3I reports the solution will enable the company to support a wider variety of devices and provide more services across multiple access technologies.
“We are satisfied cooperating with Nokia on our roadmap to transform our network core to the state-of-the-art cloud-native architecture,” said Randeep Singh Sekhon, president director, Hutchison 3 Indonesia, in a statement. “It provides us the foundation to uplift customer experience and accelerate new innovative services.”
H3I’s adoption of Nokia’s Cloud Packet Core solution is part of the company’s digital transformation initiative focused on improving customer experience and preparing to delivery future services. H31 said Nokia’s AirGile cloud-native core network enables the company to reduce costs and boost the time-to-market of new services.
