T-Mobile US Advanced Network Solutions involves partners Dell Technologies, Ericsson and Nokia
T-Mobile US has announced a new suite of private 5G solutions designed to support enterprise and government customers by providing faster speeds, lower latency and more network control, as well as options at the edge. The suite, called 5G Advanced Network Solutions (ANS), was developed in partnership with several key vendors including Nokia, Ericsson and Dell Technologies.
Nokia has worked on 5G testing at the carrier’s 5G Open Innovation Lab for some now, and together have a history of mentoring startups to develop 5G proofs of concept and go to market strategies.
“We have a longstanding trusted partnership with Nokia for our nationwide mobile network, and we are excited to work with Nokia to help enterprises and industry verticals realize the immediate benefits of 5G as they digitalize their businesses and improve operations,” commented Mishka Dehghan, senior vice president, Strategy, Product and Solutions Engineering, T-Mobile Business Group.
Ericsson, too, has a been working with the carrier for decades; since the era of 1G, according to the companies. Not too long ago, the pair achieved a number of significant milestones for standalone architecture (SA) 5G. For this project, Ericsson has provided its RAN and Core solutions for the 5G Advanced Network Solutions portfolio.

T-Mobile US’ CEO Mike Sievert said that T-Mobile began 5G ANS by “listening to customers,” who told the carrier that they wanted workable solutions today that will also scale to meet future digital transformation goals.
“With our 5G network, assets and technical leadership, T-Mobile is uniquely equipped to solve the widest array of enterprise challenges, with flexible options,” he continued. “This is how the 5G leader does 5G enterprise solutions.”
5G ANS provides three options for enterprise and government customers: 5G connectivity with a Public Mobile Network, a Hybrid Mobile Network and a Private Mobile Network. Further, compute services can be added to each approach, or the customer can choose to use their own compute provider.
International boat racing league SailGP is currently using 5G ANS to reduce latency by up to 50% compared to Wi-Fi and CBRS spectrum and to give coaches, athletes and fans real-time analytics from the boats as they whip through the water at 60mph.
