The 5G indoor coverage is available in several major landmark buildings, including the Hong Kong Convention Center and Exchange Square

Comba Telecom announced that it has deployed its indoor 5G solution, the ComFlex Pro, for 3 Hong Kong in several major landmark buildings including the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Chater House, Jardine House, Exchange Square, Prince’s Building and Alexandra House. The deployment took place earlier this year.

According to Comba Telecom, the ComFlex Pro system is an adaptable solution that helps extend macro network coverage for 5G services to indoor scenarios, providing a “unique, full-featured and flexible solution.” The solution also enables “seamless 5G coverage from outdoor to indoor.”

“Following the collaboration with 3 Hong Kong to deploy a macro 5G mobile network with our 5G antennas, we are delighted to work together again to enhance indoor 5G mobile network coverage with our ComFlex Pro system,” said Sun Tao, general manager of International Sales Center at Comba Network Systems Company Limited, in a press release.

In the same release, Kelvin Ho, wireless network director of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings stated that the operator launched next-generation services more than a year ago — April 2020, to be exact — and since then, has been “working tirelessly to enhance and optimize” this coverage, and that the aim has been to achieve “the strongest 5G network for individuals and enterprise customers and provide them with ubiquitous indoor and outdoor 5G services.”

In October 2020, 3 Hong Kong reported that its 5G network already covered 99% of Hong Kong and that its subscribers have access to next-generation connectivity in nearly 600 locations across the territory.
