Comba said the in-building wireless project includes the deployment of over 3,500 indoor antennas

Hong Kong-based wireless solution provider Comba Telecom Systems announced that it was selected as the wireless solution provider for a large-scale comprehensive development project in Manila, Philippines.

Comba Telecom is implementing its ComFlex DAS in-building solution (IBS) for the Proscenium at Rockwell development project. In addition to the deployment of ComFlex DAS repeaters, more than 3,500 indoor antennas will be installed to provide wireless coverage for the five residential buildings and the commercial complex, in two phases. The wireless provider highlighted that the neutral host IBS will provide the residents, tenants and shoppers with wireless communications supporting 2G, 3G and 4G in seven frequency bands.

Proscenium at Rockwell has a total planned area of about 3.6 hectares (8.9 acres) with a mix of residential, retail, business and amenity spaces.

“The ComFlex DAS in-building solution of Comba Telecom is a flexible active distributed antenna system that supports multiple operators and multiple technologies, especially for wireless network coverage in large-scale venues. The system also supports LTE-Advanced Pro which provides a cost-effective way for our customers to future-proof their networks,” said Annabel Huo, President of Comba Telecom International.

Comba Telecom’s ComFlex DAS has been adopted by venues, shopping malls, high speed railways, tunnels, metropolitan areas and stadiums around the world, including the EurAsia Tunnel, the 2014 Sochi Winter Games, 2014 World Cup Brazil, the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil, and the Hong Kong MTR South Island Line, among others.

ComFlex DAS is an indoor distributed antenna system for commercial public mobile telecommunication network as well as private mobile network. The ComFlex system includes two main components: the Master Unit (MU) – the interface for mobile base station and the Remote Unit (RU), which is the amplification unit. The system utilizes a single optical fiber to support multi-band and duplex operation.

Comba said that the solution’s modular design supports highly flexible frequency band and redundancy configuration to adapt to different scenarios and requirements, especially in subways or railway tunnels.
