Boingo will provide multi-carrier wireless services at the 972,000 square-foot complex
Boingo Wireless has launched neutral host cellular Distributed Antenna System and Wi-Fi networks at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). The company will provide multi-carrier wireless services at the 972,000 square-foot complex that will, according to a press release, accommodate the increasing mobile data demands of the 5G era.
Specifically, the neutral-host DAS boosts cellular signals and can support multiple Tier One carriers. In addition, the high-density Wi-Fi offers passengers a free connectivity experience, with speeds up to 100 Mbps.

Kevin C. Dolliole, director of aviation for the city of New Orleans said that “greater ease and efficiency for passengers” were critical priorities for the MSY project. “Boingo helps us achieve these goals by delivering connectivity that makes travel more convenient and seamless,” he added.
The MSY airport has three concourses, 35 gates, new parking garages and over 40 restaurants and shops, making the task of providing reliable and full coverage quite the undertaking.
Boingo, in addition to its DAS and small cell services, has a major Wi-Fi presence in airports around the world. This past year, using Cisco equipment and Samsung devices, the internet company conducted a Wi-Fi 6 commercial trial with John Wayne Airport, reporting in April triple-digit speeds using a 20 megahertz channel.
